In 2014, Mary Smith and Alison Heller founded Greenito™ after more than year identifying friction points in marijuana industry conducting qualitative and quantitative consumer research, interviewing budtenders and dispensary owners, and even an ‘interesting’ afternoon producing edibles. After that they returned to their considerable tech roots in order to concentrate on finding a solution for the customer understanding and dispensary cash management issues specific to the industry. Greenito ™ was launched in 2015 as a complete customer engagement platform that gives businesses in the marijuana industry a solution for reaching, understanding and truly connecting with customers. The platform is a B2B/B2C hybrid that provides a direct link for companies with market growth challenges, little consumer data and without access to traditional financial services.  First in investment banking at The Carlyle Group, Mary spent the bulk of her career as a management consultant for telecommunications and technology clients; spearheading new markets, product launchs and start-up growth and expansion. Clients included venture- backed Everypath, Inc., Qwest Communications (DSL), MCI Communications (bundling /wireless), USWEST (innovation and product development, DSL launch), venture-backed Arbros Communications (landline and wireless resale), Rhythms Net Connections (broadband), and Western Wireless (now T-Mobile – Western states launch). She has extensive experience in nationwide to micro-targeted advertising, fundraising, strategic planning, product marketing and business development.  Looks familiar? Probably–she has appeared frequently on topics related to tech, politics, policy, and now pot on MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, and FOX.
